Shamash

The Shamash floor lamp is inspired by ancient Persia's architecture. With a modern interpretation of sculptural features, it resurrects an archaic essence through a merging of contemporary and traditional design.

Two arches define the work: a clear glass layer simulating a Sassanid-era dome, and a mirror ceramic arch at its heart bearing Yazdibandi ornaments. The reflective steel structure throws a luminous geometry on the ground — a reflection of the symbolic geometry of the Sun. Shamash means the sun in ancient Persia.
