If the goddess of water had a throne, that throne would be water itself. The Âp chair — from Middle Persian āp, meaning “water” — is conceived as a symbolic throne for the goddess of water.
The design began as a masculine, cubic, geometric block. Through iterative studies, it transformed into a feminine, fluid form — soft yet strong, like water itself. The silhouette is shaped by soft, continuous curves that evoke flow and calm.
Inspired by classical furniture and filtered through Art Deco sensibilities — contemporary clarity while retaining echoes of tradition, with the rear leg subtly set back to create a sense of floating mass.
The chair is made entirely of solid walnut, crafted without steam-bending — its organic curvature achieved through precise contour-cutting techniques. The base features lathe-turned brass legs, with a concealed brace beneath the seat ensuring structural stability.
Upholstery is available in velvet or leather. A combination of walnut and leather is considered the most effective expression of the chair's identity: grounded in craft, yet visually contemporary.
