Matter Chair

The Souda, Metr, and Abba chairs were designed for Bazkhan, a restaurant that reinterprets Iranian cuisine through contemporary presentations inspired by French culinary traditions. This philosophy became the foundation of the furniture design as well. Rather than reproducing historical forms, the project revisited the visual language of Iranian chairs from the past 150 years, reinterpreting their proportions, construction, and formal character through a contemporary lens. The result is a collection of three distinct chairs that preserve a connection to Iran’s design heritage while responding to the functional and aesthetic demands of a modern dining environment.
